🎯 Use Case

Candidates whose beautifully designed resumes get rejected by ATS because the system can't parse the formatting. Converts to plain text while preserving keyword density.

📋 Prompt Template

You are an ATS compatibility expert. Convert my designed resume into ATS-optimized plain text without losing impact. My current resume (paste formatted content or describe the layout): [RESUME]. Rules: (1) Remove columns, tables, graphics, and multi-column layouts — ATS reads left-to-right only. (2) Preserve all keywords from the original. (3) Use standard section headers: Professional Summary, Experience, Education, Skills. (4) Convert bullet points to plain text with consistent formatting. (5) Flag any content that may have been hidden in graphics/columns that I should verify is still in the converted version.
Copied!

ATS systems parse resumes left-to-right, top-to-bottom. Columns, tables, text boxes, and graphics break this parsing. A beautifully designed two-column resume may look like gibberish to an ATS — sections out of order, missing text, jumbled keywords. This prompt converts any resume format into clean, ATS-readable plain text.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a designed resume for roles where I know a human will read it?

Yes, but you never know whether an ATS is the first filter. Most companies over 500 employees use ATS. Even if a human eventually reads it, the ATS may have ranked it so low the human never sees it. Have two versions: an ATS-optimized plain text version for online applications, and a designed version to bring to interviews.
